Field Trip

This week we are going to the Queensland State Library. Squee!

I've never been, but I've been meaning to go for a long time. For the project we need to design something for several empty library spaces. This will be an excellent opportunity to take a look at where I can put stuff for the project.

After I've been there I will upload my pictures and the ideas I got when I was there. I don't want to double up though (visual journal), so I won't put all my ideas on or sketches that I drew.

I finally got an idea today when I was walking home. I saw a gate with an arc over it. It reminded me of a Japanese Shrine/Spirit House.
I did a few sketches of what I thought it should look like and wrote a small description for their function in the QSL.
It is nothing as elaborate as these http://www.digital-images.net/Gallery/Scenic/Japan/Shrines/shrines.html, http://www.easternserenity.com/index.php?app=ccp0&ns=prodshow&ref=SH103DB16 but has a more simple architecture.
